With Christmas just around the corner and the countdown to Christmas starting on the first of December -now is the perfect time to prepare for your advent calendar traditions.

Christmas can be such a hectic time of year that you often get to Christmas day and wonder where the last month went so use the four weeks before Christmas to slow the whole season down, connect with your family and make wonderful memories to be treasured forever.
The beauty of an advent calendar is that you can be as traditional or as creative as you wish, whatever works best for your family.

Advent Candles

Traditionally advent is celebrated with an evergreen wreath and candles to remind us of the light Christ brings. We have some fabulous advent candles that you can light each day leading up to Christmas Eve – take a relaxing moment with your family every evening as the candle burns down.

Advent Calendars

When I was younger I would always get a chocolate advent calendar, one chocolate for every day up until Christmas. But why not get a little more creative this year?

Our illustrated advent calendar comes with 24 small cotton pouches that are decorated with adorable, festive illustrations, giving you the opportunity to fill them with small little treats to be enjoyed every day. You could take it in turns each year filling it up for someone in your family and this could be the start of a wonderful tradition. Let the countdown begin!

Christmas advent calendar

If you have a gardening lover in your family then we have an excellent advent calendar that they are sure to love. Each pouch is filled with different seeds, and some planters, for you to enjoy planting throughout December. An excellent way to spend quality time as a family!

In the Kitchen

Another fun way to count down to Christmas would be to get baking in the kitchen! Baking is a lovely way to spend an afternoon with the kids and take your mind off of all the chaos that Christmas brings. You could bake Christmas cookies and decorate them, make gingerbread men (or a house if you’re really clever), make some Chocolate truffles – anything you like! Invite friends and family around to come and enjoy your festive bakes with a cup of hot chocolate too.
